About Rossen Ivanov
Rossen Ivanov, joining Armstrong International in 1996, ascended to EMEA Managing Director in 2013. He has been an integral part of the development of energy-efficiency studies: for steam and condensate systems, then in direct process waste heat recovery and lately in Pinch studies and low grade heat recovery using high-temperature industrial heat pumps. This has resulted into Armstrong’s “Circular Thermal” concept that transfors “one-way” industrial thermal systems – especially for processes requiring < 200°C (food, beverage, etc.). The concept can be applied beyond the boundaries of a single site, thru the cascading of high-grade and low-grade waste heat and the integration with new applications: hydrogen electrolyzers and carbon capture systems. Extrapolation of individual site studies results to European energy systems show that industrial waste heat recovery could significantly lower the bar for both the Decarbonization of thermal systems and the energy independence of the EU.
