The event
The topic of food packaging is coming more and more into focus of the food industry. The mountains of waste are growing and measures must be taken to reduce packaging waste. Possibilities include omitting packaging altogether, using paper packaging or biodegradable plastic packaging. However, both have advantages and disadvantages. Food without packaging or in paper packaging offers less protection from environmental influences, but is apparently the more environmentally friendly option compared to plastic. Biodegradable plastic packaging, in turn, takes many years to decompose. Conventional plastic packaging is poorly degradable on the one hand but offers good protection against environmental influences and is recyclable on the other. Learn more perspectives and arguments from the experts first hand.
