The event
Even in ancient times, sacks were used for the storage and transport of a wide variety of bulk goods. Today, in the age of big bags, silo tankers and bulk carriers, bags still play an important role for many of our customers in everyday operations. Bags cover the requirements for handling small, medium and large quantities and therefore offer a wide range with a high degree of flexibility.
When handling sacks in industries with higher hygienic requirements, our customers face a number of challenges. These include, among others:
- High physical load on employees during manual emptying
- Frequent work in shifts
- High dust exposure for employees and the environment
- GMP requirements
- Economical disposal of empty bags
- Reduction of residual quantities
With automatic systems, the following challenges are added:
- Changes in the shape of the stacks or bags during transport and storage
- High variance of bagged goods due to different suppliers and raw materials
- Handling of manually stacked bags with changing packing patterns
- Reliable gripping of the individual bags
- Optimum cutting process
- High number of moving parts and product-contact-parts increase difficulties during cleaning
We at AZO have risen to these challenges and developed a holistic solution for emptying bagged goods and successfully established it together with our customers.
The major benefits of this technology include increasing the degree of automation, taking into account aspects such as high hygiene requirements, staff shortages, protecting employee health, reducing downtime and maximising cost savings.
